The Maharajas' Express, has won the World Travel Awards 2012 and 2013 as the world's leading luxury train. Hailed as "The Oscars of the Travel Industry" by the Wall Street Journal, WTA is recognized worldwide as the ultimate travel accolade.
Within a very short span of time since inception, Maharajas' Express has been fortunate to be recognized & receive many awards including:

he trend of luxury train travelling was introduced in India months before the launch of Venice Simplon Orient Express. Maharajas' Express, a recent name in the promising list of luxury tourist trains in India has left no stones unturned to promote it in the global market. Earlier the train was introduced in the year 2010 by Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) along with the Cox and Kings in joint venture, to promote tourism across the awe-inspiring locales of beautiful cities of India, Rajasthan in particular. Then reintroduced Maharajas' Express wholly owned by IRCTC, has come up with its new five itineraries - Gems of India, Treasures of India, Indian Splendor, Indian Panorama and Heritage of India in the beginning of 2012.
Over the years of its launch, the train was laurelled with many accolades from renowned travel magazines and experts of luxury travel around the world. Let's have glimpse of its achievements mentioned below:
30th November 2013
Maharajas' Express has been voted as 'World's Leading Luxury Train' in the World Travel Award 2013. The award ceremony was held in the Doha, Qatar on 30th November 2013.
12th December 2012
Recently Maharajas' Express has been laurelled as 'World's Leading Luxury Train' in the World Travel Award 2012. The award ceremony was held in the New Delhi Capital Region at Oberoi hotel, Gurgaon on 12th December, 2012. The gala event also marked the end of the Blue Train's 3 times winning streak in the same category.
Travelling from one place to another is more like dreaming as it opens the doors from the real world to a world that is yet to be discovered. The royal journey aboard Maharajas' Express allows the travelers to explore the rich essence of India blended with world class facilities onboard.

The next big crown of Maharajas' Express was the Conde Nast Traveler Reader's Choice Award in 2011. Maharajas' Express was given the 1st runner- up prize in the Specialist Train Operators Category awarded at Conde Nast Traveler Readers' Travel Award. The award ceremony was held in London on 31st August, 2011.
The perpetual urge of performing better and better led Maharajas' Express to get name in the 2011 list of World's Top 25 Trains by The Society of International Railway Travelers.
6th September 2010
In the race of best luxury train, Maharajas' Express got its first award in the year of 2010 at the 4th edition of CNBC AWAAZ Travel Awards held in New Delhi on 6th September. Maharajas' Express was declared the 'Best Luxury Train' at this award ceremony. CNBC AWAAZ channel in association with the One Stop Shop and Incredible India has organized this award ceremony. All the winners were congratulated by Kumari Selja, Minister of Tourism, India.
